SRINAGAR: The Jammu & Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) organised an inspiring interaction session with Shradha Sharma, Founder and CEO of YourStory, here at its Sempora campus on Tuesday.  The session witnessed enthusiastic participation from innovators, entrepreneurs and startup founders from across the region.

The programme was held in the presence of  Mohammad Younis Malik, Director JKEDI, who in his welcome address,  emphasised that the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Jammu & Kashmir has been steadily evolving and urged the startup community to move beyond the "survival mode" and embrace a mindset focused on growth and long-term sustainability.

Highlighting the transformative role of entrepreneurship, Director JKEDI observed that several startups from the region have successfully broken conventional stereotypes by emerging as job creators rather than job seekers. He remarked that building a vibrant startup ecosystem is a continuous process and meaningful interactions with accomplished entrepreneurs and industry leaders play a vital role in motivating young innovators, broadening their perspectives and equipping them for future challenges.

Addressing the gathering, Shradha Sharma described it as "nothing short of a miracle" to be interacting with the vibrant startup community of Jammu & Kashmir. She appreciated the resilience, determination and innovative spirit displayed by entrepreneurs from the region and expressed her admiration for the remarkable entrepreneurial journeys emerging from Jammu & Kashmir.

Laying special emphasis on women-led enterprises, Sharma said that the stories of women entrepreneurs from the region deserve to be showcased on national and global platforms. She observed that for women entrepreneurs, stepping forward with innovative ideas and successfully scaling them into sustainable businesses is a significant achievement. She assured the participants that YourStory would be keen to highlight and amplify such inspiring entrepreneurial journeys, enabling them to reach wider audiences and inspire many others.

Sharma further stressed that interaction sessions of this nature are instrumental in strengthening the confidence of startups, helping them understand the value of storytelling, visibility and perseverance in building successful ventures.

The programme concluded with an engaging one-to-one interaction between Shradha Sharma and the participating startups, during which entrepreneurs shared their business ideas, challenges, growth aspirations and success stories. The interactive session provided valuable insights on entrepreneurship, brand building, scaling businesses and effectively communicating startup journeys, leaving participants motivated and better equipped to navigate their entrepreneurial path.
