In loving memory of Dr. Priya Ranjan: A mentor who treated me like family

JAMMU: NSS Campus Unit-3 of the University of Jammu organised a ‘Parisar Swachhata Abhiyan’ across the Law School and the Law Department, with the participation of more than 40 NSS volunteers. The initiative aimed to promote campus cleanliness, environmental awareness and a sense of social responsibility among students.

The cleanliness drive was conducted under the mentorship of Prof. Umesh Rai, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu, whose commitment to promoting student-led, socially impactful initiatives continues to strengthen civic engagement on campus.

The programme was held under the guidance of Prof. Vishav Raksha, Convener, NSS Campus Units, who commended the volunteers for their efforts and emphasised the importance of student participation in fostering environmental awareness and maintaining campus cleanliness.

Dr. Hema Gandotra, Programme Coordinator, NSS Campus Units, appreciated the contributions of the volunteers and encouraged them to continue their efforts towards ensuring a clean, healthy and sustainable campus environment.

The initiative was organised by Dr. Monika Bhardwaj, Programme Officer, NSS Campus Unit-3, who actively participated in the drive. She emphasised that cleanliness is a collective responsibility and an essential aspect of professional conduct and responsible citizenship.

The primary objective of the campaign was to improve campus hygiene and sensitise students to the importance of environmental upkeep. Through their active participation, the NSS volunteers reinforced the message that maintaining a clean and green campus is a shared responsibility and an integral part of responsible institutional citizenship.
