JAMMU: Director Urban Local Bodies Jammu Kapil Sharma today conducted a field inspection across Municipal Committees of Akhnoor, Jourian and Khour to review the progress of development works, sanitation arrangements, solid waste management and other civic services.

The Director inspected ongoing development works along with the concerned Executive Officers and technical teams. He reviewed the progress of works being executed under SASCI, CAPEX and Drainage works. He directed the concerned officers to ensure quality execution and timely completion of projects.

The Director inspected the MRF facility at Airenpur- Akhnoor and reviewed its functioning. Building-related works and the status of building permission cases were also reviewed, with directions to expedite clearances as per prescribed rules.

At MC Jourian, the Director reviewed major development works, including the ongoing Municipal Committee Office Building. He also interacted with former Councillors and prominent citizens and took feedback regarding development and civic issues of the town. 

Later, the Director reviewed ongoing development and town beautification works in Khour Township, directing the Executive Officer to ensure proper upkeep of public spaces. The MRF facility serving MC Khour and MC Jourian, located at Dheleri Khour, was also inspected.

Sanitation and cleanliness arrangements were reviewed across all three towns. The Director asked the Executive Officers to ensure regular deployment and monitoring of sanitation staff, effective cleanliness of public areas and timely lifting of waste, with particular emphasis on sustained cleanliness rather than intermittent drives.
