SRINAGAR: A day-long workshop/training programme on New Engineering Guidelines and Minimum System Standards for implementation of cold chain components was today organized at the Directorate of Horticulture Kashmir. The workshop was organized under the chairmanship of Director Horticulture Kashmir, Vikas Anand.
Ashish Fotedar, Chief Operating Officer; Manoj, Under Secretary Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH) from Government of India imparted the training to the participants. The training was aimed to equip the officers of the department and private entrepreneurs about the basic knowhow of the operation as per the new engineering guidelines of the programme. Threadbare deliberations were made on the topic and on spot queries were responded to by the experts.
Programme comprised of two sessions with thorough discussions, all the relevant information on the subject was disseminated among the participants. Presidents of CA Stores and Chamber of Commerce also deliberated on the subject referring to the present status and issues regarding the subject. A book of guidelines on âNew Engineering guidelines and minimum system standards for implementation in cold chain componentsâ was also formally handed over to Director Horticulture Kashmir (Mission Director MIDH JK)
Director Horticulture Kashmir assured full support to the stakeholders and instantly sensitized the Chief Horticulture Officers and other related staff to ensure highest level of handholding support at all levels to the farming community including stakeholders of post-Harvest industry. The workshop was attended by Chief Canning Instructor Kashmir, Chief Horticulture officers of Kashmir Division, Assistant Director Horticulture Kashmir, Presidents of JKPICCA, Chamber of Commerce (Food processing Industry), owners representatives of CA Stores and representatives of HANSA group.
