- Inspects medical aid centre for Shri Amarnath ji Yatra 2025 at Lakhanpur
KATHUA: Director Health Services Jammu Dr. Abdul Hamid Zargar conducted a comprehensive review of the healthcare scenario in District Kathua during his visit to the district today.
The Director was accompanied by STO Dr. Jyoti Jolly; AD Schemes Dr.Ila Gupta; CoS Dr.Ritesh Khullar and Nodal Officer NIDDCP Dr.Gurdeep. The meeting aimed at evaluating the performance and achievements under various key health indicators and flagship programmes including the National Health Mission (NHM) and National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP).
The meeting was attended by Chief Medical Officer Kathua Dr Vijay Raina, who gave a detailed PowerPoint presentation on the districtâs health progress. DTO, DHO, BMOs of all blocks of District, DIO and other concerned officers were also present.
A major focus was laid on the implementation of Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK). The DHS directed the CMO to ensure that every school and Anganwadi centre in the district is covered under health screening. He highlighted the importance of early detection of anaemia and other common disorders in children to enable timely medical interventions. While reviewing the districtâs performance under the TB Elimination Programme, DHS urged for intensified field efforts to meet the national target of a TB-free India.
The Director also reviewed the performance under major NHM-supported initiatives such as e-Sanjeevani (Tele-Consultation), Tele-MANAS (Mental Health Counselling), Tele-ICUs, and free ambulance services.
While expressing satisfaction, he emphasized the need to enhance public awareness and ensure optimal operational efficiency so that every needy citizen can avail of these services.
Reviewing critical care infrastructure under the PM-Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM), Dr. Zargar assessed the status and timelines of ongoing projects and instructed for expedited completion without compromising quality.
Dr. Zargar appreciated the dedication of the district health team and urged them to maintain the momentum in ensuring accessible, accountable, and quality healthcare services across the District.
Later, the DHS visited Lakhanpur to review arrangements and inspect the medical aid centre established for Sh.Amarnath ji Yatra 2025. The DHS was satisfied with the arrangements.
