JAMMU: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu successfully concluded the Nurturing Future Leadership Programme (Batch–21) under the aegis of the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Programme (MMTTP) with a valedictory ceremony held at the Vedanta MDP Centre, Jagti Campus. The five-day programme, conducted from 3–7 August 2026, was designed to strengthen academic leadership, enhance institutional effectiveness, and equip faculty members with contemporary leadership competencies essential for higher education institutions. The valedictory ceremony was presided over by Prof. Prashant Mishra, Chairperson, EE and C in presence of Dr. Praveen Kumar, Programme Director, IIM Jammu.
Addressing the participants, Prof. Prashant Mishra, Chairperson, Executive Education & Consultancy, IIM Jammu, congratulated them on the completion of the programme and observed that their hard work and commitment had culminated in a rewarding learning experience. He emphasized that learning is a continuous process and that its true value lies in the effective application of knowledge in the workplace. Highlighting the importance of mutual learning, he noted that such programmes facilitate the cross-pollination of ideas, enabling both participants and faculty to learn from one another. He further remarked that the ultimate beneficiary of every learning initiative is the student and encouraged the participants to serve as ambassadors of IIM Jammu by carrying forward the values of excellence, continuous learning, and professional integrity in their respective organizations.
The valedictory ceremony commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Praveen Kumar, Programme Director, who warmly welcomed the dignitaries and participants. This was followed by a comprehensive programme report highlighting the objectives, academic themes, and key learning outcomes of the five-day programme. He emphasized that the programme provided participants with a multidisciplinary learning platform through interactive sessions, collaborative discussions, and experiential pedagogies, enabling them to develop leadership capabilities aligned with the evolving landscape of higher education.
One of the highlights of the ceremony was the participants' reflection session, where faculty participants shared their enriching learning experiences and appreciated the programme's practical orientation, academic rigor, and engaging deliberations. They acknowledged that the programme broadened their perspectives on academic leadership, institutional governance, innovation, and effective teaching-learning practices while fostering meaningful peer learning and professional networking.
The ceremony also witnessed the distribution of certificates to the participants in recognition of their successful completion of the programme. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Praveen Kumar, Programme Director, who expressed gratitude to the faculty members, participants, resource persons, and organizing team for their valuable contributions towards the successful conduct of the programme. The ceremony concluded with the rendition of the National Song and the National Anthem.
