JAMMU: Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry Ladies Organisation (FICCI FLO) Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh successfully hosted the 4th edition of its JKL Marathon in collaboration with Jammu Tourism. The marathon witnessed around 750 registrations across the 3 KM Fun Run, 5 KM, 10 KM and 21 KM Half Marathon categories.

Held under the theme “Discover the Undiscovered,” the event brought together fitness, tourism and social impact, with participants experiencing the scenic and lesser-explored Parmandal–Uttarbeni tourism circuit.

The proceeds from the marathon will contribute towards establishing a women’s skilling centre, reinforcing FICCI FLO JKL’s commitment to empowering women through skill development and livelihood opportunities.

The marathon was flagged off by Director Tourism Jammu Dr. Vikas Gupta; Joint Director Aijaz Qaiser and Anissa Nabi. The valedictory function was graced by Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation  Dr. Devansh Yadav as the Chief Guest.

Speaking on the occasion, Varsha Bansal, Chairperson, FICCI FLO JKL, said, “Marathon 4.0 brings together fitness, tourism and social impact. Through ‘Discover the Undiscovered’, we wanted participants to experience a beautiful, lesser-explored part of Jammu, while every step contributed towards creating opportunities for women through skilling. The response of 750 registrations has been extremely encouraging.”

Dr. Devansh Yadav,  Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation, said, “The FICCI FLO JKL Marathon at Four A Resort is a wonderful platform to promote fitness, community participation and our beautiful surroundings. Linking the event with women’s skilling makes the initiative even more meaningful. I congratulate FICCI FLO JKL for bringing these important aspects together.”

Dr. Vikas Gupta highlighted the tourism potential of the Parmandal–Uttarbeni route, noting that initiatives such as the marathon can encourage people to explore Jammu’s lesser-known destinations while promoting fitness.

The marathon witnessed enthusiastic participation across age groups, with runners displaying remarkable endurance and sporting spirit. Kanupriya Garg, Sports Initiative Lead, FICCI FLO JKL and Race Director, played a key role in planning and executing the marathon and coordinating race-day operations.
