- Police Public meet at Bandipora, Hideout busted in Pulwama,Police issues advisory, PCPG meeting held at P/S Uri,Transport facility to teams participating in Kick Boxing
SRINAGAR: Based on credible inputs about the presence of terrorists in Warpora area of North Kashmir’s Sopore district, a cordon and search operation was launched by Police and security forces in the area. As the searches were going on, the hiding terrorists fired on the search party. The fire was retaliated leading to an encounter.
In the ensuing encounter, 02 terrorists were killed and the bodies were retrieved from the site of encounter. Their identities and affiliations are being ascertained. Police has registered a case and initiated investigation in the matter. Incriminating materials including arms and ammunition were recovered from the site of encounter.
Citizens are requested not to venture inside the encounter zone since such an area can prove dangerous due to stray explosive materials. People are requested to cooperate with police till the area is completely sanitized and cleared of all the explosives materials if any.
Police Public meet at Bandipora: Continuing its efforts to build strong relations with public, Bandipora police organized a police public meeting at Police Post Nowgam. The meeting chaired by In-charge PP Nowgam was attended by respectable citizens of Nowgam and Gund Nowgam.
During the meeting participants raised various issues pertaining to police as well as civil administration. The chairing officer assured the participants that their issues pertaining to police will be redressed shortly and other issues will be taken up with the concerned departments for their early redressal.
Hideout busted in Pulwama: On a credible input police and security forces today in a joint operation busted a hideout in Banderpora area of Pulwama. Officers at the spot have seized huge quantity of incriminating materials and other items from the hideout. A case has been registered and investigating in the matter is going on.
Police issues advisory: It has been noticed that students of different educational institutions within the limits of City Srinagar uses Scooties/Motor cycles as a mode of transportation by violating various rules of M.V Act. As such Head of the Schools/Parents are requested not to allow School children to drive Scooties/Motor cycles without crash helmet, without driving licenses and other valid documents.
In this regard, all the Principals of education institutions in City Srinagar are requested to advise students to follow the traffic rules properly. Likewise concerned parents may also be informed to ensure the safety of their wards no children below the age of 18 years be permitted to drive the two wheelers. Whereas students falling in major age group be permitted to drive two wheelers only if they are in possession of driving license, crash helmets and other valid documents. Two days after issuance of the advisory if any student still found violating the rules shall be dealt strictly as per law.
PCPG meeting held at P/S Uri: In order to strengthen police public relations, a PCPG meeting was organized by Baramulla police at Police Station Uri. The meeting was chaired by SDPO Uri, besides SHO Uri was also present on the occasion. Respectable citizens of Gingle, Choolan, Daragutliyan and Danisayidaan areas participated in the meeting. Many issues were raised by the participants during the meeting. Officers present on the occasion assured the participants that their issues will be taken up with the concerned departments for their early redressal.
Transport facility to teams participating in Kick Boxing: Bandipora police today provided transport facility to the teams participating in Kick Boxing from (SKCS) Stadium Bandipora to Railway Station Sopore with proper escort. The bus was flagged off by DYSP Dar Bandipora Shri Abdul Rashid Khan from (SKCS) Stadium Bandipora, who also wished them good luck and best wishes for their upcoming matches. Participants and team organizers thanked Bandipora Police for organizing transport facility to them at such a short notice.
