JAMMU: Jammu Kashmir Freedom Fighters Association (JKFFA) on Sunday held a function to remember Brigadier Mohd Usman, a hero of 1947 Indo- Pak war at Dogra Shaurya Sthal Amphalla Jammu which was organised by its President  Ved Gandotra the President of the Association. Kiran Wattal Ex. Municipal Commissioner was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Floral tributes were paid to Martyr by the members chanting of National Anthem, Candles were lit in his honour and a two minutes silence was also observed.

While speaking on the occasion the members threw light over the life history of Brig. Usman, who-rightly denied the offer of ‘Ali Mohd. Jinah, the then head of the Pakistan to become commander in Chief of the Pakistan Forces. Brig. Usman said that “I was an Indian and would die while fighting for India”. Ali Mohd. Jinah has also offered a bet of Rs. 50,000/- who will kill Brig. Usman.

They said that Brigadier Usman was born on 15th of July 1912 and attained Martyrdom just 12 days before his 36th Birthday. Usman was leading “Baloch Regiment” at that time and was fighting against Pakistan shall hit him and led to his martyrdom. The members also remembered other martyrs and asked the youth to follow the path and sacrifice and honesty shown by the martyrs and freedom fighters to make a Great Bharat of their dreams. The prominent who spoke on the occasion were Rajiv Mahajan (State President Shri Ram Sena), J.J Singh, Th. Karnail Chand, Prabhat Kapahi, Gaurav and others.
