SRINAGAR: Police have recovered illicit timber (deodar) in village Kherman area of Handwara. Acting on a reliable information, police recovered 32 logs of illicit timber (Deodar) from the cowshed of Ab Rehman Ganai @Showkat son of Mohd Subhan resident of Kherman Wadipoora. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 34/2024 under relevant sections of law has been registered & investigation has been initiated.
The drive against timber smugglers will continue to ensure protection of green gold. Our consistent actions against anti-social elements should reassure the community members that we are making every effort to keep our society free of crime. Police have resolved to act as per law against those who indulge in criminal & anti-social activities.
